Police Departments Serving as SAFE ZONES for Online Transactions

Community Policing Effort

An up and coming initiative across Police Departments has been to open up the department parking lots as a designated SAFE ZONE where the public can conduct transactions with unknown parties that they have connected with on sites such as Craigslist or Virtual Yard Sale Facebook pages.  The intention is to deter and prevent fraud and crimes by using a public area for transactions. This safe zone concept is excellent an Community Policing effort that will add anther fiber of safety to the community.  Local Cape Police Departments offering this SAFE ZONE initiative include Falmouth Police Department and Yarmouth Police Department.
