Recreational Marijuana Legalization
Senator deMacedo spoke to the group regarding his concern about the upcoming ballot questions in November 2016 that will address the recreational use of marijuana. The discussion surrounded the recent history of this issue. It began with the decriminalization of marijuana, then the legalization of medical marijuana and now ballot initiatives which will legalize the recreational use of marijuana.
Senator deMacedo believes this issue can still be debated and that there is a possibility to defeat the questions which will enable legalization. He believes that a group should come together to publicly oppose the questions and is trying to reach out to stakeholders to gather support.
