Community Policing Initiative: Business Service Notification Cards

YPD_Service_Card_ImageDuring the May SMPCA Meeting, the Community Policing practice of Business District Notification Cards was shared by Yarmouth Police Department’s Chief Frederickson. During the midnight shift, patrols physical check at least one business in each sector for security. Patrol officers leave a Business Service Notification Card for the business owner to inform them of the officer visit and other necessary information learned during the check..

Business owner response has been all positive with a number of comments submitted to the department via Facebook (see comments below) thanking YPD for their efforts. This is an example of a successful, low cost community policing initiative that communicates to the business community that even while they sleep, their police department is hard at work making sure their property is safe and taken care of. For more information, contact Chief Frederickson.

I never knew this before. Thank you YPD for protecting our little piece of “heaven”.

You guys are the Best, Thank you & Be Safe

Maybe when you leave these cards, you could ask for current info? Love that you’re doing this and hope everyone who gets a card appreciates your hard work.
